ABUNDANCE Abstract Floral Painting

Lives of abundance.

Where the flowers bloom, and dreams of rivers of gold

flowing in a valley of shadow, that brightens our paths.

While creating this painting, I went through a lot of stages, both technically and emotionally. This is one of my first mixed media abstract art pieces as a beginner artist. I started out feeling in over my head, the under painting was nothing like what I had envisioned. Moving onto to the second layer, I got frustrated with the flower petals. I eventually took a break...

When I came back to paint, I decided to let go of any and all ideas what I thought the painting should be and allowed myself freedom of expression. I then began to lay down paint stroked full of life, joy, and energy. Letting go was all I needed to end up with a piece I felt proud of. 

I began to feel this word come to mind - ABUNDANCE. I began to paint "rivers of gold, pink, and purple" onto the canvas.
